WHY JOIN THE VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS
The Saxonburg VFW was chartered on May 23, 1946 by local Veterans of World War II, including liberated prisoners of war from the Battle of the Bulge. The VFW soon became home to Korean War Veterans and Vietnam Veterans who have led efforts and advocacy to critical reforms to the VA and expansion of benefits. These Officers and Members also oversaw many community projects over the years, including the development of the memorial to service members killed in action and the gazebo in Roebling Park.
Now, Gulf War Area and Global War on Terrorism Combat Veterans are taking the helm under the mentorship and camaraderie of our long time members. We are finding new ways of building connection among our local veterans and supporting our local communities.
Combat veterans and their families are invited to come check us out.
Who is eligible for active membership?
If you have received a campaign medal for overseas service; have served
30 consecutive or 60 non-consecutive days in Korea; or have ever
received hostile fire or imminent danger pay, then you're eligible to

As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's
