The Main Street Banners Project is sponsored by the Saxonburg VFW Post 7376, and is in honor of all local Veterans and Service Members.
In the coming weeks, additional banners will be displayed for local Combat Veterans, including many Charter members of Post 7376. See the list of Service Members and Veterans that will be honored this fall: Fall Banner List.
When did the project Start?
The project kicked off in the Spring 2025 with the first of two community fundraisers - A Saxonburg Cornhole-sponsored Tournament and then the Second Annual VFW Golf Outing. Additionally, the design of each banner was donated by Cathy from the The Sign Shop + and installation (time + equipment) was supported by the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company and the Officers of our Post.
Who are the banners for? Are they just for service members killed in action (KIAs)?
The banners are for all local members of the US Armed Forces (active duty – veteran – retired). We started with the service members killed in action (KIAs) and Charter Members of the VFW -- the Combat Veterans that founded the Post in May 1946.
How and when can I order a banner?
The process and application for ordering a banner and the final cost will be shared in the coming weeks. The next round of banners are planned to go up in Spring 2026, and there will be information available online, as well as through local community organizations.

Yes! See the link below.
Where can I get more information?
Follow this website and the Saxonburg VFW Post 7376 Facebook page. Due to anticipated volume, calls and emails may not be able to be returned quickly at this time, but all information will be made public as we get it.
This is just the beginning of the project, and we will work to fill as many poles as we have interest (through the side streets as needed).
Our programs support our service members while they are on the front line, as they are being discharged and long after they return. Your donation will be immediately directed to the VFW programs where your support is most urgently needed.
